The course focuses on European decision making on environmental topics and explores different professions for environmental experts in European Parliament.

Description

The course is organized as a trip to Brussels. We travel by trains via Sweden, Denmark and Germany and do coursework on the way there and back. In Brussels, the course includes a two-and-a-half day visit including meetings with MEPs and different experts working in the European Parliament and other institutions. 

Learning outcomes

- the students will learn how environmental decision making happens on EU level

- the students will learn to make science-based policy recommendations for European decision makers

- the students will get familiar with reading and writing environmental policy texts

- the students will learn to write a short article for the larger public based on their experiences

Description of prerequisites

Course is primarily targeted for students with earlier sustainability-related studies.
