Description

Internship introduces student to research and/or expert work in the field of biological and environmental science and develops interaction between the university and working life. The internship allows student to apply and integrate his/her knowledge and skills acquired in various courses. The internship is agreed in advance with the supervisor at the department. The student prepares an internship plan in advance and a report at the end of the internship.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student will

- have a structured idea about research and/or expert tasks in his7her field.

- be able to outline the skills/knowledge required in working life.

- be able to assess his/her own competence in the field of work.

- have the ability to work as a motivated, committed and responsible member of a working community.

- knows the main rights and obligations of employees knows the job application process.

Additional information

BENS5040 Training (5-15 ECTS). 5 ECTS can be included in the compulsory courses. As an alternative student can do BENS6040 Training abroad (5-25 ECTS) or BENS7040 Working in a research group (5 ECTS). A student can include a maximum of 20 ECTS of training in Finland or 25 ECTS training abroad to the degree.

Evaluation criteria:
Accepted training report after finishing the internship. One month work equals 5 ECTS.
