BENA9001 Courses in Biological and Environmental Sciences (1+ cr)
Description
The course introduces students to the world of science education and provides training in the popularization of science. In practice, they prepare guided learning sessions and/or plan and implement guided tours, for example for the museum's temporary exhibitions. In addition, there are learning sessions or lessons for school classes or at field sites.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, student will be able to
· prepare and implement learning sessions based on inquiry-based learning.
· illustrate the content of the subject (e.g. species, habitat, phenomenon or concept) to be presented.
· present natural history or other educational material taking into account the knowledge and motivation level of the target group and the reactions of the group.
· prepare informative presentation material on the subject.
· manage and lead groups from different backgrounds.
