Description
Course description
This course focuses primarily on training 4 basic language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. In addition, students will get familiar with Slovakia’s culture, history, and literature through various topic-related learning resources.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student
· can communicate in general situations related to the study, social and work life
· can produce mainly coherent texts, both oral and written
· can use the colloqial expressions and more abstract language
· masters basic structures and get familiar with such grammatical phenomena as the genitive, aspect, conditional and imperative
· learn more profoundly about Slovak culture, history and traditions
· gain the confidence and fluency in oral and written communication
Additional information
Students will work independently following the instructions in Moodle. Contact sessions– ‘checkpoints ‘– will be offered once in two-three weeks upon agreement.
Language of instruction: Slovak, Finnish, and English. Both, Finnish and exchange students are welcome.Description of prerequisites
This course is recommended to the students who have successfully accomplished the Slovak 2 course or have studied Slovak outside the University of Jyväskylä.
The competence level A1 is required.
