Description
The Introductory English course is for those Integra programme students who need an elementary level in the English language and need to develop their Basic Interpersonal Communication Skills (BICS) in English to be able to manage a variety of common social and straightforward professional situations.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student is expected to:
- have Basic Interpersonal Communication Skills (BICS) to at least an A1 level
- have developed skills to present on and discuss about a familiar topic
- have developed skills to write descriptive and narrative text types on a familiar topic related to their lives
- have a preliminary understanding of how learning English is relevant in the Finnish context
