Description

This online course provides opportunities to develop skills needed to give a purposeful academic presentation. Through independent work, the students will familiarize themselves with core aspects of presenting. The course introduces different topics such as presentation structure and using sources, to achieve the learning outcomes.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course, students are expected to be able to:


  • Identify the different aspects of an effective presentation and deliver one.
  • Adapt their linguistic repertoire according to the required situation.
  • Reflect on their own presenting skills, and development throughout the module.

Completion methods

Method 1

Evaluation criteria:
The course material and assignments are in the course workspace in Moodle. It is recommended that the modules are completed within one semester (autumn semester = September-December; spring semester = January-May). There are several deadlines per semester, before which you can submit your assignments – all at once – for assessment. The teacher will start reading finished modules after the deadline, and after that it will take one or two weeks for you to get the feedback and for the course credits to show in Sisu. Grading scale is pass / fail.
