Description
This course aims to develop skills obtained in academia and transferring them to working life. The course provides opportunities to work in multilingual and interdisciplinary teams, raising awareness of the conventions of language and communication needed in diverse teams. The students reflect on what has been learned in academia and see the value in transferring the skills into work life. Typical tasks include writing a short piece of text related to work life and leading a peer-teaching session in groups.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course students are expected to be able to:
- recognize the conventions and registers of language and communication needed in order to transition between academic and professional life.
- adapt a research-based approach to professional and interdisciplinary contexts.
- further develop their teamwork and argumentation skills in order to adapt from academic to professional life.
- develop their communication skills and activate their language repertoires in order to network effectively in their field and in interdisciplinary contexts
