Description
Attending conferences provides researchers of all stages with the unique opportunity to share their own research and to interact and network with other researchers. Finding the most suitable conference and writing a successful abstract are crucial first steps in this process. The aim of this course is thus to support doctoral students in this endeavour.

On completion of the course, participants are expected to…
- know how to find suitable conferences
- be aware of the characteristics of successful abstracts
- be able to identify different rhetorical moves in abstracts and apply this knowledge to their own writing
