Description
Content
The studies consist of mandatory research ethics (3 ECTS), mandatory philosophy of science / theory of science (3 ECTS), and optional qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods study modules. The study unity can also contain study modules that the student plans him/herself and that will be accepted by the supervisor in personal study plan discussions.
Completion methods
Courses (e.g. Methodology Centre for Human Sciences, IHME), independent studying (essays, learning diaries, assignments), seminars, scientific journals, scientific expert tasks, project work and supervision.
Learning outcomes
After completing these studies the student
• masters ethical rules and procedures involved in good academic practice, and is able to recognize and analyze ethical problems in different areas and phases of research (mandatory content)
• understands the general starting points of scientific theory formation
• masters the methodology in the field of psychology and possesses some special knowledge of some quantitative or qualitative methods
