Content

The "big ideas" of the nano science is introduced and they will be related to few case studies in nano science. The course contains laboratory works which introduce the basic ideas of nano science. In addition, several scientists from NSC introduce their own research.

Completion methods

3 x 3 h lectures, 4x3 laboratory work, and introduction to few research groups of NSC.

Assessment details

The basic knowledge from the nano sciences is evaluated. Attendance to lectures and laboratory works is required.

Active participation to the discussions and recognisable knowledge from the basics of nano science.

Learning outcomes

After the course, the student perceives the broadness of nano sciences. He/She can classify phenomenon of nano sciences and knows some basic details of experimental devices. He/She can tell about the research topics taking place at NSC and can read an scientific article from nano sciences.
