LPSS1002 Developing Behavior Change Interventions (5 cr)

Contents
This course will allow students the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge learned in the Advanced knowledge of exercise psychology course to solving a real-world problem.
Mode of Study
Independent reading, lectures with group discussions (15h), homework assignments, collaborative group work, group presentations, group final paper.
Evaluation
Active participation in lectures and completion of homework assignments (30 %); Final Presentation (30%); Final Paper (40%)
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Undertake a needs assessment that identifies a targeted behavioral change that would help achieve desired societal outcomes;
- Use theory and evidence to identify important determinants of the target behavior;
- Use theory and evidence to select behavior change techniques for changing the target behavior;
- Package selected behavior change techniques into a coherent behavior change intervention program;
- Select a strategy for evaluating the success of the planned intervention program
