Content
The course deals with issues of space and place from cultural and political perspectives.
Completion methods
Taught course or independent work (book exam, reading group or assignment).
Assessment criteria
80% participation in teaching and written assignments or lecture exam. Independent work on written assignments or book exam.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will:
- know how place and space are cultural, technological and virtual phenomena
- recognise the construction of physical, symbolic and cultural boundaries and their significance in human societies
- be able to analytically assess the relationship between global and local and
- understand the construction of space and place in the interaction of knowledge and power.
