KLAS1809 Global Perspectives on School Reform (5 cr)
Description
Theories, models and principles of educational change, focusing on school reform, organizational learning, schools as learning organizations, and professional learning communities.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will have:
- an understanding of the complexities and paradoxes of the change process in an educational context.
- ability to apply the systems perspective for successful educational change in their past, present or future contexts.
- knowledge of the importance and practice of learning organizations, including a shared vision, continuous professional learning, collaboration/teamwork within as well as outside the organizations, creativity and innovation, and strategic leadership.
- built confidence in application of the concepts through real life examples of challenges and success stories of school transformation through experiences of school leaders/teachers/educators from Finland and India.
Additional information
The completion of the course includes participation in teaching and workshops, guest lectures and workshops from EDUPSY and GINTL partners from India.
