Description
In the source management module, students study the content, structures and use of archive material in a variety of ways. Particular attention is paid to digital materials.
Learning outcomes
After completing this module, the student will:
- be familiar with the methods of organising and describing data used in source management, searches and usability and be able to consider storage and accessibility issues, especially for digital materials
- have the theoretical and professional knowledge base and problem-solving skills required for specialist tasks, and recognise management related processes
- recognise their own expertise
- be familiar with the legal and ethical criteria for document management, and be able to justify decisions related to issues such as screening and use
- be able to search for information, analyse data and generate new knowledge both verbally and in writing
- be able to participate in the debate on document management, commenting on, comparing, generalising and developing new perspectives
- use and apply research results in practical assignments and understand the importance of source documents
