Zin om je Nederlands naar het volgende niveau te brengen? Welcome to this open level course (CEFR A2 or higher)! Both Finnish and exchange students are welcome.

Description

This course is for students who successfully finished Hollanti 3 or who have learnt Dutch somewhere else and have CEFR-level A2 or higher. When in doubt about whether this course would suit you, contact the teacher (vastuuopettaja). Both Finnish and exchange students are welcome. Finnish languages skills are not needed.

When in class, learners are expected to actively participate and engage in coursework.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, students can

  • talk about the world around them

  • express their needs, feelings and experiences

  • read different types of texts on familiar topics

  • consciously develop their own written communication in Dutch.

Some of the grammatical items that will be discussed during this course: the plusquamperfectum, the passive voice, the conditional, model particles and conjunctions.

Target level at the end of the course: CEFR B1 (or higher).

Additional information

You will further develop your already existing language knowledge according to your personal learning goals.

At the start of the course, we will map out everyone's previous language knowledge and fields of interest. Together we will discuss both the planning and the content of the lessons. You will also get to individually decide which language skills you want to focus on. During the lessons, you will have the option to learn A2-B1 content (for those who finished Hollanti 3 or an equivalent) or higher-level content (for those who feel like a challenge or those who already have CEFR B1). Belgian and Dutch culture is intertwined with the course material.

Language of instruction: Dutch, English and Finnish
