Content
The focus of the course is on the activation and development of basic academic writing skills. Course content includes, e.g. the ways to improve your writing independently and the online tools available for this, the structure and types of paragraphs and academic texts, the features of academic language, the steps of the writing process, and how to cite sources.
Completion methods
Contact teaching and independent study. Compulsory attendance in class tutorials.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students are expected to have developed their:
- basic academic writing skills in English,
- independent learning skills,
- process writing skills,
- skills in giving and receiving peer feedback on writing.
