Description
Lectures, practical exercises, visits to fish farms, report, seminar. The student must be able to use Microsoft Excel.
Learning outcomes
After completing this course,
- The student should be able to understand the special characteristics, potential, possibilities, limitations and threats of aquaculture in Finland.
- The student should be able to perform the basic tasks in a fish farm.
- The student should be able to calculate the most common production parameters such as growth, and water and feed requirements of farmed fishes.
- The student understands the principles of recirculating aquaculture systems and possibilities to utilization of effluent nutrients
