Description

Elementary number theory: divisibility, prime numbers, number systems, congruence relation.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student
  • can examine the divisibility of integers
  • knows the basics of the prime numbers
  • can use congruence in observing divisibility 
  • can start observing  a simple new problem in number theory without an example
  • know that an essential part of mathematics is research, making conjectures, and proving
