Content

Students select an assignment or course to complement their learning and specialisation. The selected unit may be a course taught by a visiting scholar at the University of Jyväskylä, participating in or assisting with a conference, assisting with research or a project, completing courses in other subjects or other assignments relevant to developing the student’s own expertise.

Completion methods

Taught course or independent work.

Assessment criteria

80% participation in teaching and written assignments or lecture exam. Completion by independent study – essay or book exam.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student will: 
  • have acquired special expertise in their chosen subject in the field of ethnology, anthropology or cultural policy
