Taught course. Independent work on written assignments is possible in special cases.

Content

The course focuses on work skills, project skills and expertise, and networking with employers in the culture sectors (NGOs, projects, public services, administration, businesses). The course covers the driving forces behind, factors influencing and theories of work. The course also introduces students to employment policy. During the course, students learn to recognise their own strengths and employment opportunities. It is recommended that before doing this course, students first complete course KUMP1003 Employment and expertise.

Assessment criteria

80% participation in teaching and written assignments or lecture exam. Independent work on written assignments or book exam are assessed.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student will:

  • be familiar with the structures and typical features of culture work
  • understand the impact of societal conditions and development on employability
  • know how to approach their own expertise critically and analytically and
  • know their own strengths and know how to create a career path that suits them.
