Description

The course introduces the operating principles and analytical methods of spectroscopic devices used in the analysis of different inorganic and organic materials related to the circular economy. In addition, at the application level, the use of spectroscopic methods such as AAS, UV, FTIR, NIR, Raman, and energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy in the form of demonstrations is considered. The operating principle of the scanning electron microscope (SEM) and its application possibilities are also explored with theoretical approach and practical demonstrations.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student understands the main operating principles of spectroscopic methods and their application in various analytical tasks. The student is able to choose the appropriate analytical technique for different sample types and concentration levels for the information desired.

Working life skills

After completing the course, the student is familiar with the methods of analytical spectroscopy and has a reasonable ability to use different spectroscopic equipment as analytical tools. The student also understands the importance of equipment maintenance and service procedures.
