Description
This course will familiarise students with the diverse relationship between culture and knowledge in cultural jobs and administration: the cultural nature of knowledge, the knowledge architectures in the cultural sector and the significance of knowledge in cultural administration. What is the role of knowledge in a changing society, and how can knowledge be used to promote participation, make an impact and govern comprehensively? The course also focuses on the question of what ethical knowledge is, and how and on what grounds ethical knowledge is produced in the cultural sector.
Learning outcomes
After completing this course, students will
- be able to recognise the meanings, nature and impacts of knowledge in cultural policy;
- understand the information models and knowledge architectures of different systems;
- know the meaning of data management and ethical data management from the perspective of legislation and expertise;
- be familiar with the administrative, practical and ethical challenges related to open, public and non-open data.
