Description

The students practice the communication skills necessary for a researcher, learn how to give scientific representations and learn how to perform in an interview. They learn how to write a CV, research plan and a job application (both for academic and non-academic positions). They get accustomed with the ethical principles in research and publishing as well as open science procedures. The topics for the representations given during the seminar will be outside the specializations of the students.

Learning outcomes

The student understands the ethical issues in research and in publishing as well as open science principles, has the necessary communication skills, is able to give scientific representations, and is accustomed with the other topics that are relevant for a researcher.

Description of prerequisites

The student has been accepted as a graduate student.

Method 1

Description:
Written assignments, scientific representation, active participation in the seminar.
Evaluation criteria:
The student has given a successful scientific representation, returned the given written assignments and completed the other given tasks.
