Description

The course seeks to critically examine how globalization and media mutually reinforce transformation in human communication and society. Media is understood broadly and in a “non-media-centric” way: we will examine current transformations in media technologies, media culture, media genres, and media practice. 

Learning outcomes

On completion of this module the student will

  • know what are the most important theories of globalization, key concepts and their relation to media and culture
  • be able to train critical thinking skills to analyze and discuss media’s role in globalization and
  • learn to examine how globalization shapes media environment and media practices and how media produces globalization.
