Description

The goal of the course is that student learns to reflect their learning during training. In addition, students aims to describe their knowledge and have an idea of activities and of diversities of organizations. Training course is taken after training. The idea is to share the training experience, discuss and reflect learning with others. The goal is that students start to think about possible career paths and their skills. The idea is that students could connect theory (knowledge) into practice. Other possible issues concerning working life can also be discussed during the course.

The job title can vary, but the work must be related to the field of chemistry. Students in the subject teacher programme can obtain ECTS credits from teaching mathematics and natural science subjects. Practical training ECTS credits cannot be obtained from the same work experience or teaching that has been used for other study units or degrees.

It is possible to obtain either 2 ECTS/work month or 5 ECTS/work month.  A work month consists of approximately 8 hour work days, 5 days a week. For subject teacher students the weekly work time is 20 hours.

  • To get 2 ECTS/work month the student must write a report and send it to the person in charge of the course.
  • In order to obtain 5 ECTS/work month the student must, together with the department's pedagogical head and possibly the employer, agree on learning outcomes for the training. After the practical training the students participates in the seminars and completes the given assignments. These seminars are at the same time with the course KEMS902.
