Description

Sampling means the plan how to select subset of individuals from population to get information in efficient way. Using certain sampling requires appropriate estimation method to be able generalize the results to the population. In this course the aim is to get some general insight to sampling and related statistical terms (e.g. standard error, Mean square error, statistical power, Intra class correlation, etc.).

Learning outcomes

Targeted learning outcomes: By the end of this course, students should be able to plan efficient sampling.

Additional information

Completion mode:
This is a blended-learning course that combines technology-enhanced learning activities and face-to-face classroom learning. In this course the students will explore pre-recorded video lectures, text materials and do online exercises as well as reflective writing assignments. In addition, to complete this course students will participate to group work (or will do individual assignment) and take part a face-to-face workshop in the end of course. The workshop consists of group presentations and discussions. The course can extend to specific questions applying certain sampling methods to students own survey.
