Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to

  • Describe different parts in a control system

  • Differentiate the benefits and shortcomings in both negative and positive feedback

  • Explain the basic principles of semiconductors and how doping affects them

  • Apply semiconductor components (diodes and transistors) in basic circuits

  • Construct basic amplifier circuits by using bipolar and MOS transistors

  • Classify and describe the different noise sources relevant to electronics components and systems

  • Identify different data acquisition and conversion methods

Completion methods

Evaluation criteria:
At least half of the total points (max 60) and accepted laboratory work is required for passing. The total points consist of exam (max 48 points) and exercises (max 12 points). Lack of exercise points can be compensated with exam points, in which case the maximum points in the exam are 60.
