Description

Contents

The course is an introduction to mathematical modelling, i.e. on how to describe real phenomena using mathematical concepts. The course consists of about 10 independent video lectures that approach modeling from different angles and with different methods. The course is given by a network coordinated by TAMU.

Methods

Weekly lectures and related group exercises, final project , active commenting of the work of other student groups.

Grading

Weekly exercises (40%), final project (40%), commenting (20%).

Learning outcomes

Student knows about different types of modelling techniques, can create simple models as team work and can assess different models built on different grounds, and to give constructive feedback on models.
