Description

The course introduces existing media channels that popularize musicological research. Students practice the communication of academic content learned in previous courses by utilizing different forms of media. During the course, the basics of copyright law relevant to online publishing are also introduced.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student is

- familiar with the possibilities of new media in popularizing musicological content and research communication

- aware of the ethical responsibilities associated with online publishing and is able to implement ethical conduct in publishing one’s own content

- able to produce a variety of content that utilizes text, audio and video material to communicate musicological perspectives to a wider audience in Finnish and in English
