Content

Definition of mass media, introduction to media as audience former, sports as media content, sport journalism and journalists, the challenges of sport in mass media.

Completion methods

Active participation in lectures (20 hours) and the lecture exam. Lectures will be held in English but it is possible to answer either in Finnish or in English in the lecture exam and the book exam.

Lectures and the exam 50 % and the book exam (two books) 50 %

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, student is able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of the key aspects and issues related to sport media and the logic of broadcasting of sport
