Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, the student is able to:

  • understand special considerations in pediatric exercise physiology
  • describe organ system adaptations during aging and understand their importance for functional capacity
  • explain the effect of exercise on physical performance during aging
  • describe special considerations in health of the aging adult
  • understand musculoskeletal injury/illness and their prevention
  • describe cardiometabolic diseases and their prevention 
  • critically read topic-specific literature
  • apply their learning to practice in various relevant fields
