• Students will present their own research plans and/or preliminary analyses and reports, give and receive feedback from other PhD students, the supervisors and senior researchers, ethical debate within the discipline, and the responsible conduct of research

• practices and requirements of PhD studies in the University of Jyväskylä and Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences

• development of expertise

After completing the course,

• student knows the phases and practices of doctoral education and the procedure of supervision,

• is acquaintance with the research career
• knows the sources of funding the research
• is capable to active participate national and international scientific debate both literally and orally
• is able to justify his/her own solutions in the dissertation
• is acquaintance with the current debate within the discipline
• is ethically responsible and follows the responsible conduct of research
• is acquaintance with different employment opportunities
