EMG: muscle activation, reflexes, electrical stimulation
In vivo muscle mechanics
Kinematic analysis

Completion methods

12 hours of lectures, 16 hours of demonstrations and 16 hours of independent laboratory work
Exchange students 3 ECTS; lectures and literature, NO demonstrations.
Students prepare brief reports of their laboratory work. Exams on lectures and literature.

Lectures 50%.literature 50%, demonstrations pass / fail

Learning outcomes

To gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in various measurement systems and data analysis in biomechanics. After completing the course a student is able to:
• use biomechanical research methods such as force transducers, surface electromyography, muscle and nerve stimulation
• describe muscle activation and contraction mechanisms
• explain the neural and muscle mechanical factors affecting the force production of skeletal muscle
