Content

This course teaches the students to critically evaluate the development and utilization of theories in intercultural communication. By analyzing and discussing key theoretical approaches in the field, the course aims to increase the intercultural knowledge and awareness of the participants.

Lectures, written assignment.

Assessment details

Passing the course requires completion of all required assignments in line with stated learning outcomes. An 80% attendance requirement is applied. Grade-specific assessment criteria are introduced in the course.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course the student will be able to
  • identify and describe the major theoretical frameworks in intercultural communication research
  • critically analyze, compare and evaluate intercultural communication theories, their development and research applications
  • relate theoretical insights to everyday communication processes and phenomena.
