Content
The course will foster students’ understanding of interactional dynamics in professional and everyday environments and offer tools for reflecting on and analyzing professional practices. Students will be guided in analyzing interactions from various settings, including technology-mediated, workplace and educational interaction.

Active participation in the lectures and workshops and completing the required assignments.Learning outcomes
- recognize and analyze the basic structures of social interaction
- collect and transcribe audio and video data
- use different methods of analysis (e.g. case study, collection-based study)
- understand the theoretical foundations of the study of situated social interaction (incl. ethnomethodology and conversation analysis)
- discuss and evaluate current work in conversation analysis and interaction analysis
- show understanding of the social significance and practical applications of interaction analytic research
- carry out a small-scale study following the ethical principles of research on social interaction

Attendance policy: 80%
The language on the course is either English or Finnish.
