Description

basic concepts and theories in (professional) ethics; main approaches in moral and sustainable education; children’s and disabled people’s rights and status; indoctrination and the paradox of education; possibilities and limits of individual autonomy; justice and equality; basics of moral agency and reflection on one’s own ethical thinking

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to
- analyse central concepts and theoretical viewpoints related to the (professional) ethics of education
- evaluate various approaches in ethical and sustainable education and apply them in their own work
- compare arguments and counter-arguments related to various ethical questions
- critically evaluate their professional ethical principles and value framework
