ITKY124 Working and Training in the Third Sector (1–2 cr)
Description
You can get credits from a voluntary work and/or courses that you have done in third sector organizations. The voluntary work and/or courses must have had professional benefits.
You must write two pages report answering at least to these questions: What was the organization, and how long you have been acting there? If you have attended a course, you should report the name and the content of the course. In general, did you learn new skills or did your way of thinking change? Where will you be able to apply skills you have learnt? Could you apply the skills you have learnt in your profession or in some other aspects of your future life? Did you get some other skills? E.g. communication skills or organization skills?
Return your report to coordinator Katja Tynkkynen (faculty office, room C431.5, it-studyaffairs@jyu.fi) by paper or as e-mail attachment. With the report, you must return copy of certificate from the organizer of the course(s). If you return the report with e-mail, please use “ITKY124 report” as topic of the e-mail.
Learning outcomes
The goal is to encourage students to act as active member in the society. A student is good to learnt to reflect, which kind of professional benefits she or he can get taking part of third sector activities.
