Description

Content

The maturity test demonstrates the student’s familiarity with the topic of their thesis and academic writing style. At the same time, students who have received their school education in Finnish or Swedish demonstrate excellent skills in using the language in which they have been educated.

Students need not demonstrate their Finnish or Swedish language skills in the same language executable for the master’s degree if they have already done so in a maturity test for the bachelor’s degree.

A member of staff who teaches the subject assesses the content of the maturity test, while the language aspect is assessed by a linguistic reviser approved by the Centre for Multilingual Academic Communication, Movi. If a student has demonstrated their Finnish or Swedish language skills in a maturity test for their bachelor’s degree, both the content and language of the student’s written maturity test may be assessed by a member of staff who teaches the subject.

Students writing the maturity test in a language in which they did not receive their school education or which is not their mother tongue are assessed on their knowledge of the thesis topic and academic writing style.

Completion methods
