At the end of the course student is expected to be able to:
* Explain concepts of urban and regional economics
* Explain theories of regional development
* Apply simple regional economic theories such as neoclassical growth model
* Understand why regional development of employment and income may diverge
* Understand the role of human capital in economic growth process
* Compare migration theories
* Analyze objectives of regional policy and Finnish urban and regional policy
* Describe the structure of Finnish regional economies and the factors affecting their evolution
