Description

Content

The course discusses the interconnectedness between ecological, social and economic goals from the perspective of global development and the Finnish welfare state. The course initiates the students to interdisciplinary thinking and encourages them to study wellbeing in the global context that take into account the needs of future generations. In addition, the course focuses on the content of sustainable wellbeing and human rights and on the interrelations between different sustainability challenges.

Contact teaching, group work, written assignment, reflective diary or exam

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student will be able to see Finnish wellbeing in relation to the sustainable development goals of the UN. The student is aware of the tensions between current lifestyles and the sustainability development goals. The student can critically reflect how social policy and social work are related to global ecosocial development.
