KEMY004 Introduction to Finnish laboratory Work (1 op) course is designed for exchange and other foreign students, who have already completed laboratory course(s) at home university, to give suitable introduction and training in working in a laboratory in Finland. The course is given in English.
Introduction to Finnish laboratory Work (includes lecture and laboratory training) is obligatory before one can start laboratory practice. The student gets acquainted with basic and prescribed practices in Finnish laboratory.

Completion methods

The course consist of
- lecture(s) 4 h (compulsory attendance)
- laboratory exercise(s) 16 h (compulsory attendance)
- scientific reporting 8 h

Laboratory exercise(s) is done in supervised group work. The student writes the report from the exercise(s) individually.

Assessment details

Completing the course consists of attending the lecture(s) and the laboratory exercise(s) as well as reporting of the completed exercise(s).

Introduction to Finnish laboratory Work course will give information about how to work safely and in accordance with regulations in Finnish laboratory of chemistry.
