Description
Content
Practical ICP-OES analytics. Processing a method for performing analysis, optimization of measurement parameters, optimization of robust plasma conditions, effects of sample matrices on measurement conditions affecting on wavelengths, spray chambers and nebulizers. Spectral correction using IEC and MSF models.
Completion methods
Lectures, demonstration in the laboratory and seminar.
Assessment details
Participation in lectures, group work during laboratory demonstrations and a presentation at the final seminar.
Learning outcomes
After the course, students will be able to make the measurement method for ICP-OES spectrometry. The student is also able to select different type of samples of a suitable sample introduction system, as well as to adjust the parameters of the instrument such that the measurement result obtained are reliable. The student can also be calculated the limit of detection and the limit of quantification. In addition, the student knows how to correct spectral interferences.
