Grading scale:
0-5
Language:
Finnish
Responsible organisation:
Department of Chemistry
Curriculum periods:
2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2019-2020
Description
Content
Errors and their sources in analytical chemistry, mean and standard deviation, confidence limits, detection of outliers, calibration and linear regression, significance tests and analysis of variance.
Completion methods
Lectures, demonstrations and examination.
Assessment details
The course will be accepted if 50% of maximum points in course exam is achieved.
1 = 50-59 %
2 = 60-69 %
3 = 70-79 %
4 = 80-89 %
5 = 90-100 %
Learning outcomes
After the course, students will be able to evaluate errors present in the analytical results and to critically assess their impact on the measurement results. The student is also able to compare the measured results obtained using different analytical methods and draw conclusions on the usefulness of the results.
Description of prerequisites
Analytical Chemistry 1 (KEMA203), Analytical Chemistry 2 (KEMA204) and Inorganic Chemistry 1 (KEMA214).
