Content
Research training is a supervised experimental or theoretical project work that can take place outside University. Research training can be linked to Master’s thesis work and it can feature for example designing an experimental setup, programming or deriving demanding theoretical results for the thesis. It can also be a literature survey from the given topic. Research training topics can be requested from the staff of the Physics Department. Before commencing research training students need to register for this course in Korppi.

Assessment details
To pass the course, students need to have submitted a research report for assessment. In addition to the report, students’ activities during the project, such as mastery of relevant physics, mastery of research methods and equipment, independence, scheduling and the end-result of the project, are being assessed.
