Content

This course focuses on virus-cell interactions. The course concentrates on specific events in viral life cycle including cellular entry, virus-nucleus interactions and viruses and apoptosis.

1) Essay based on given publications
2) Presentation of the topic/essay to others
3) Questions and discussion with the other groups having the same topic
4) Evaluation of the two groups addressing the same topic
5) Questions created for the exam
6) Exam (Open book home exam)
7) Evaluation of the exam
Attendance is compulsory at the discussions and seminars.

Assessment details

The grading is based on points received from tasks. All events and tasks are compulsory.

Learning outcomes

A learning goal is to understand the modern knowledge of diversity of virus cell interactions. The course provides hooks to stimulate students curiosity and interest in virology. In addition they will practice tasks similar to those undertaken by professionals within a discipline including scientific discussions, asking questions, performing collaborative projects and presenting.
