Content
Aimed at post-graduate students to increase their awareness of the philosophy and ethics behind their own biological research. Based on discussions on a reading material given at the beginning of the course.
Completion methods
14 hours of interactive discussions with group activities and 3 hr panel discussion (question day).
Assessment details
Assessment for the course: pass-fail.
To get a passing grade, the student is required to attend all the discussions and panel discussion.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student:
- understand what is biological research, what are its limitations and how biological knowledge has developed
- has the ability to reflect on the ethical boundaries of his/her own research.
