Content
A written examination based on a textbook, approved by the professor, covering the student’s major subject. Alternative to book examination is literature review on the thesis topic or some other completion mode approved by the professor of the major study subject. It is strongly recommended that a doctoral student will take this course during her/his first year.

The number of credits earned is determined by the depth and extent of the texts used in preparation for the exam.
