Description
Content
The course provides a structured process for working within project team situations. The assignments follow a logical progression from creation of a project theme, submission of a project proposal and presentation of various components of the project proposal in a conference presentation, amongst other related professional documentation and verbal communication. Teams work together through business meeting formats.

Compulsory and active participation. Successful completion of core assignments. Final grading is based on the applicable grading scale for the course.
Learning outcomes
At the completion of the course students are expected to
- recognize the conventions and registers of language needed in professional life.
- practice the concept of the writing process (eg. prewriting strategies, document drafts, editing iterations, group writing).
- identify how to avoid plagiarism with various forms of written documentation (e.g. proposals, memorandums, presentation visuals).
- interpret intercultural differences and effectively communicate in group and multicultural environments.
- locate and access various on- and offline tools, and work within an online project tool setting.
