This course consists of attending guest lectures, presentations, seminars or conferences offered for the students and staff at the Language Campus or attending other research seminars or conferences relevant to the field.

Learning diary. Exact information on the events as well as documentation of participation (a signature either from the lecturer or from a member of the organizing party) must be attached to the learning diary.

Additional information

A learning diary of two pages (500 words) is written for each lecture or presentation, stating the nature and significance of the event for the students’ own discipline, studies, and learning. One ECTS credit equals attending three standard lectures (approx. 90 minutes each) and completing the learning diary for each of them. The course can be completed by attending lectures during several semesters. Events that can be utilized for the lecture pass: guest lectures, guest seminars or research meetings, public examinations of doctoral dissertations in applied language studies, conference and seminar lectures concerning applied language studies (in Finland or abroad), other events agreed upon individually.
