Content

The role of theory in understanding physical activity behaviour; Physical activity programmes and interventions; Information on how technology, including accelerometers, and Web-based intervention strategies can be used in changing physical activity behaviour.

a) Active participation in lectures (14 hours) and demonstrations (6 hours) and completion of assignments
or
b) Book examination.

a) Exercises during lectures (30%) and written assignment
during demonstrations (70%)

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, student is able to
- design and evaluate basic physical activity programmes and interventions.
- evaluate the most often used theories that relate to the promotion of physical activity and choose the most appropriate
- perform different measures of physical activity behaviour according to the aim of the program/intervention.
